KidKnits | Knitting Craft Kits for Kids

From the Hands of Kids, for the Heart of Rwanda

KidKnits started with a very simply idea - to make hats out of hand-made yarn from Rwanda.  From this simple idea, however, there comes so much more.
  • Through paying fair trade prices for the yarn and the carrying bags, women in Rwanda are able to support themselves and their families with above-average salaries through this social enterprise.
  • Through selling craft kits to kids around the United States, we can all learn a lesson that anyone of any age can help those in need, even those around the world.
  • Through selling craft kits directly to schools and other student groups, when combined with our service learning curriculum, KidKnits provides an amazing educational opportunity to inspire students to change the world, while giving them a tangible opportunity to do just that.
  • Finally, an opportunity for one family in Peoria, Illinois to take on a wonderful family project.  For mom, dad and three daughters to work together on a project has provided so many amazing learning opportunities for all of us, and will continue to do so.

Donavi Inc. is currently doing business as KidKnits.  Donavi Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation.  Through your generous donations, we will further our educational mission, develop new curricula, and bring the KidKnits experience to children who otherwise would not be able to afford it.
